Ingredients for Palace Wrap Baklava:
1 package of phyllo dough
2 cups of crushed walnuts
1 packet of margarine
1/4 cup of vegetable oil
4 cups of sugar
Quarter of a lemon
Instructions for Making Palace Wrap Baklava:
1- Hello everyone, today I’d like to share a simple dessert recipe with you, and it’s syrupy too.
2-Firstly, prepare the syrup by mixing 5 cups of sugar with lemon juice and allowing it to cool.
3-To make the dessert, melt the margarine and add the vegetable oil. This mixture will be spread between the layers of phyllo dough.
4-I used the classic phyllo dough available in most grocery stores. Remember, phyllo dough dries out quickly, so be sure to cover it with a damp cloth while working with it.
5-Take one sheet of phyllo dough, brush it with the margarine-oil mixture, and place another sheet on top. Sprinkle some crushed walnuts on this layer.
5-Gently roll it up with a rolling pin, not too tightly, and carefully remove it from the pin.
6-Place the prepared pastries on a greased baking tray, and repeat the process until the tray is filled.
7-Brush the remaining margarine-oil mixture on top, and bake at 180 degrees Celsius, keeping an eye on it as it cooks quickly. Be careful not to overbake.
8-Once the pastries are done, pour the cooled syrup over them. I added the syrup when it was cold and the pastries were warm. Avoid pouring the syrup when it’s too hot, as it might make your pastries soggy.
9-You can garnish with some more crushed walnuts before serving.
Enjoy your meal!
