Indulge in the delectable delight of Kadayıf Dolması, a traditional Turkish dessert that combines shredded kadayıf pastry with a sweet walnut filling, soaked in aromatic syrup.

    Kadayıf Dolması Recipe

    Ingredients for Kadayıf Dolması:
    300 grams fresh shredded kadayıf
    1 cup chopped walnuts

    For Coating:

    3 eggs
    ½ cup milk
    ½ packet vanilla extract

    For Frying:

    Vegetable oil

    For Syrup:

    2 cups sugar
    2.5 cups water
    3-4 drops lemon juice

    Instructions for Making Kadayıf Dolması:

    – First, prepare the syrup by boiling sugar and water for approximately 20 minutes.
    – Just before removing it from the heat, add 3-4 drops of lemon juice.
    – The syrup should be quite cold, so my recommendation is to prepare it well in advance and refrigerate it.
    – Fluff the kadayıf with your hands a bit.
    – Take palm-sized portions and spread them out on a clean surface.
    – Place chopped walnuts on one edge and roll it up tightly, making sure to seal the edges.
    – Repeat the process for the remaining kadayıf.
    – In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
    – Dip the prepared kadayıf rolls into the egg mixture, coating them evenly.
    – You can press down with your hands to remove excess egg.
    – Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot until hot.
    – Fry the kadayıf rolls until golden brown on all sides.
    – Once done, immediately place them in the cold syrup for 3-4 minutes.
    – Transfer to a serving plate and serve warm. Enjoy your meal!
